Lead UX Designer

Responsive Website

(2020-2021)

The Project

When Ash (a start-up that sells at home STI test kits) came to us they had a brand identified and were about to launch their pilot. They were in need of help with the UX and UI on their MVP customer facing website.

Ash was on a mission to eliminate the stigma around sexual health by introducing a new normal to the space. We helped them build a platform to allow people to receive an STI test kit right to their door and receive results quick and discrete.

Ash recently made a business decision to switch from being a B2C to a B2B company, so our work is not currently live, but you can check out what we did for them below.

Personas

We started by analyzing research put together by the Ash team and created personas to highlight existing gaps and pain points in traditional sexual health clinics.

User Journeys

We built user journeys highlighting the ideal end-to-end experience an Ash customer would have both online and offline. This helped us identify the right features for the MVP website and assisted in critical business decisions.

User Flow

The user journeys, features that already existed, business goals, and feedback from the pilot were all used to build the sitemap and acceptance criteria for MVP as well as any new ideas we had. We then created user flows to map out the infrastructure of the site and the end-to-end experience the customer would have finding the right STI test for them, purchasing the test kit, discrete shipping, and the experience for receiving test results.

Wireframes

From there we moved into wireframing and visually designing the site. We had regular check-ins with the Product Owner on an as needed basis, and a bi-weekly check-in with the Ash team to share our progress.
